Lest We Forget

You've been here before. So have I. It feels familiar but different at the same time.

The world turns, we are a little older. Our worries change but still there, the same. You were my past and when you visit my future, you seem like you don't belong. Thank you for the visit but some doors should remain shut. It's sweeter that way.

Sometimes we have to give credit where credit is due, cause if a moment was different would you be the person you are today?

Are you standing tall and proud? Would you do it all over again? Push came to shove, would you trade places with the next person to walk through that door?

I didn't think so.

So enjoy this moment. We may never have planned it but the best laid plans..well you know what the say. In the end we were destined to live..in absolute terms. We are the last of the romantics and maybe history would look kindly upon us.

I don't look back in anger. Not in the least. Between you and me... I think I have put my life in the hands of a rock and roll band.
